FREE Engineering Design Challenge

Description

Build a catapult, win a scholarship. Harford Day School is offering a FREE engineering design challenge for children in Grades 3-7. Each student will plan and create a catapult to launch a large marshmallow to knock over a tower of 20 Dixie cups positioned two meters away. 

Materials provided: 20 popsicle sticks, 10 pipe cleaners, 8 clothespins, 1 meter of masking tape, 15 rubber bands, 1 meter of yarn, 4 plastic spoons, 5 plastic bottle lids.

One winner in each grade level will win a $2,000 scholarship. This scholarship is available to new students who apply and are admitted to Harford Day School for the 2018-2019 school year.
