Lead AV Technician

Elite Home Entertainment is currently seeking an onsite AV Technician who will support all audiovisual needs, executive level events, and end-user technologies. ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS A MUST! WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT CANDIDATE!

Excellent customer communications skills combined with strong AV technical background is a plus but not required. This is NOT a Help Desk or Customer Support role handling calls for Network, Desktop or other IT issues. This position REQUIRES in-depth knowledge of AV technologies or the willingness to learn the trade.

Responsibilities

  • • Review project design, check staged equipment, load truck
  • • Inspect job site, complete job as per work order & system design
  • • Installation of home theater and surround sound equipment, in addition to other consumer home technology such as networking
  • Specific on-site tasks may include running wire behind walls and in ceilings to create a clean & finished look for the client
  • • Train customer in use of system in a patient, polite and professional manner
  • • Complete end of day paperwork and time sheets
  • • Maintain vehicle and its inventory
  • • Manage any Junior level A/V Techs and Installers if applicable Required Skills:
  • • Excellent customer service skills
  • • Ability to troubleshoot complex audiovisual systems
  • • Superior problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • • Strong computer skills
  • • Ability to work independently
  • • General mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of hand and power tools preferred • Construction experience preferred but not required.

The ability to complete quality workmanship is critical with what we do.

Other Qualifications and Responsibilities include:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Pass a drug and background test.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to spend time on your feet and knees.
  • Can read and follow instructions for installations.
  • Be able to keep daily records of jobs with complete and accurate paperwork.
  • Efficient with power tools.
  • Self-motivated and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Professional and courteous attitude, and the ability to interact and work with clients.
  • Background at a technical college is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Previous work and knowledge of security systems would also be a plus.

Compensation will be based on your previous experience and training. In addition to a salary, the position also includes the opportunity to earn commissions.
