Harmer's Town Art Center Executive Director Brittany Powell was born and raised in Havre de Grace, MD. She has worked in museums and cultural institutions for almost 20 years after completing her undergraduate degree at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2007. In 2013, she obtained a Master’s of Science in Leadership in Museum Education from the Bank Street College of Education in New York. She has held positions at the Walters Art Museum and the Delaware Contemporary in addition to consulting with local museums including the Havre de Grace Colored School Museum and Cultural Center and Concord Point Lighthouse. She lives in downtown Havre de Grace with her husband, two young children, and dog.
